The smith chart3/2/2023 ![]() QUESTION: What type of coordinate system is used in a Smith chart? (E9G02)ĪNSWER: Resistance circles and reactance arcs In practice, you want to position the chart so that 0 ohms is at the far left, while infinity is at the far right. Points on this axis are pure resistances. The resistance axis is the only straight line on the Smith chart. The Smith chart coordinate system is comprised of resistance circles and reactance arcs. While a complete discussion of the theory behind the Smith Chart is outside the scope of this study guide, a good discussion of the Smith Chart can be found on the ARRL website. Good agreement between simulations and measurements in terms of accelerating cavity parameters and impedances is illustrated.A Smith chart, shown in Figure E9-3 above, is a chart designed to solve transmission line problems graphically. ![]() It is shown that using the equivalent circuit model decreases the computational load significantly for the wake field simulations of resonator cavities. We report equivalent circuit analysis for higher-order modes and variations of the equivalent circuit components with respect to considered misalignment errors for the MICE experiment's muon cooling cavity. Critical coupling and bead-pull measurements are performed at the TM010-like mode frequency, 2.45 GHz for the quality factor and shunt impedance of the high-β cavity. ![]() Equivalent circuit components of an equatorially misaligned single-cell aluminum elliptical cavity are obtained from the measured data and are employed to calculate longitudinal impedance and modal wake function. ![]() In this study experimental and computational investigations to quantify the effects of transversal half-cell misalignments on the fundamental accelerator cavity parameters and beam dynamics are presented. One of the most challenging problems in modern particle accelerator systems is the manufacture of RF cavities within the desired tolerance limits. A side study investigating material engineering by means of rapid thermal annealing to tune the device absorption spectrum, that together with the possibility of customising the device design, permits to expand the operation bandwidth while supporting either the transverse electric or transverse magnetic polarisation, is also presented. Scattering parameters measurements also permitted to evaluate a power consumption of 44 fJ/bit, confirming the exceptional electro-optical efficiency of the design. As a result, a device with cutting edge performances was realised, measuring dynamic extinction ratio of 5.2 dB at 56 Gbps with 3dB bandwidth of 56 GHz. A simulation platform was, in fact, built to estimate electro-optic performances of design variations and define process recipes the design reference was, then, translated in a set of masks used in the fabrication run. Starting from a blank canvas, this project benefited from simulation study, process development and fabrication run. The novelties of this design are found in the thick platform, which permits better optical confinement, and the wrap-around junction design that enables definition of wide rib while keeping strong electric field distribution in the active portion of the rib. Offering a fast, power efficient and easy to produce, integrated optic modulator working in the C and L band of the communication spectrum for datacentre applications, this thesis presents an innovative Franz-Keldysh based modulator, integrated in a rib waveguide on the 800 nm platform and fully CMOS compatible. An ambitious yet necessary objective is envisioned by 2030, link speed above 1 Tb/s allowing sophisticated web-services to grow and reach users worldwide. ![]() The growing of Internet has driven recent development of Silicon Photonics in the attempt of coping with the unceasing demand of bandwidth at cheap cost datacentres with large footprint and enormous computational performances are deployed every year with a rate that, by 2021, will represent the 53% of the total count of installed servers. ![]()

Usagi yojimbo wallpaper3/1/2023 ![]() ![]() That stable career was destroyed when a villainous rival lord, Lord Hikiji, sent ninja to assassinate the Mifune family. In his term of service, Usagi rose to become a trusted personal bodyguard of his Lord and his family. Kenichi and Mariko later married however, before leaving the village, Usagi and Mariko had a romantic encounter that resulted in a son, Jotaro, whose parentage was hidden from Usagi for years. Kenichi decided to stay, and would eventually become headman upon Usagi's father's death, which comforted Mariko somewhat against the loss of her other dearest friend. Together they returned to their village to free it from brigands that were threatening it. Before leaving to enter Mifune's service, Usagi returned to his village for a final farewell, where he found Kenichi had been staying at an inn in drunken despair, having sworn to leave the school due to his failure to win the tournament, but too ashamed to return home. The region's daimyō, Lord Mifune, was observing the contest and was impressed with Usagi's skill enough to offer him a position as a retainer. Usagi won the tournament, his final match being against his old "comrade" Kenichi, who by then was the top student of the Dogora school, and earned his own daisho: the katana named Yagi no Eda (en: "Willow Branch") and the wakizashi named Aoyagi (en: "Young Willow"). Before a blow could be struck however, Usagi's future lord, Mifune, intervened on his behalf, and upon sensing the rabbit's honorable nature, let Usagi go.Īt the end of his training, Katsuichi brought Usagi to a fencing tournament hosted by the Dogora school. Instead of summarily executing the young rabbit, they instead began the process of cutting his hand off. Upon his return to the battlefield to return the sword to its rightful owner, Usagi was caught by adult samurai and accused of theft. Fraught with guilt over the theft, Usagi began seeing the now dead soldier in numerous situations, at one point having a nightmare that involved Katsuichi morphed into the soldier. One of those misadventures involved a young Usagi stealing a dying soldier's wakizashi while walking through a battlefield with his teacher. Katsuichi initially refused, but relented when Usagi stood outside his home day and night through unpleasant weather long enough to convince the teacher of his determination.įor years, Usagi was the exclusive student of Katsuichi-sensei, and although he proved a mischievous pupil who got into various misadventures, he also excelled at his studies to become a formidable warrior. Although Kenichi was unimpressed by the display, Usagi pursued the departing sensei to petition him to become his student. In spite of their numerical advantage, the gang was quickly defeated by the sensei's unusual, but definitely effective, technique. Katsuichi had left the school years ago, dissatisfied with the poor calibre of the students. However, on the trip there the boys witnessed a confrontation where a gang of arrogant Dogora students attacked a lone traveler named Katsuichi. Eventually the trio went their separate ways when the boys were sent to be trained as samurai in the Dogora school of Bujitsu (en: arts of war). His two childhood playmates were Kenichi, with whom Usagi would have a less-than-friendly rivalry his whole life, and Mariko, one of the reasons for the boys' rivalry. Usagi was born the only son of a village headman. Usagi is a highly skilled swordsman and one of the best in the land. Originally intended to be a human, Sakai was inspired to anthropomorphize the character after doodling a rabbit with its ears bound in a style reminiscent of a samurai topknot. Corpse party anime opening3/1/2023 ![]() I liked the fact that the gore worked and was part of the story, and not just "there for show". The gore was terrifying and well done, the lightning and shadows were spot on and the creepy stuff were indeed creepy. The character design and the animation was great. ![]() well, I'm gonna go find a toilet because I really need to pee right now, we can catch up later, bye!". I mean "this guy just told me there are ghosts here and the floor is filled with blood and corpses. There were quite a few things left unexplained and some things the characters did were just plain stupid. ![]() The reason I give it a little above average on the story is because it had a few holes in it and they didn't show everything that happened (probably because the time wasn't enough). The ending was also a surprise, as well as the characters actions. However, you never know who will survive, or if anyone will survive, which I think is really good. It's unoriginal and predictable, but it works. To escape, they have to solve the mystery of what really happened to the children, and set their spirits free. It's your typical horror story some school kids perform a ritual and end up in a school that's haunted by the spirits of dead children and their victims. Have in mind that I have not played the game. It's interesting enough to watch (since it's only about 2 hours in total), but it could have been better. Be warned, there are a lot of gore and violence, as well as some ecchi. It's not the best horror anime I've seen, but it's definetly not the worst either.

In essence, it puts a cap on the amount of damage he can receive in a single shot, negating any damage that goes over the cap. This means that he is immensely tankier than any other troop in the game due to being able to reduce all damage taken to a relatively small amount (1300 at max level): even if that attack would have dealt ''tens of thousands of damage.'' ** In addition, his Taunt ability ] his damage reduction, which can set the damage cap as low as 100 damage at max level. ![]() Chances are, since he's now drawn the fire of every defense within about 8 tiles of himself, he'll need it. * DistressedDude: Must be rescued from Hammerman's Level 55 HQ. Why he's there and why he hasn't attempted to fight back is completely unknown, as he doesn't give any dialogue upon rescue. * DrawAggro: His Taunt ability not only increases his already insane damage reduction, but causes all defenses in the immediate area to automatically target him. * TheDreaded: Apparently the very fact that he exists has caused Dr. T to lapse into minor madness and start talking in his sleep. * MightyGlacier: '''Good lord.''' At max level, Bullit has over half the health of a max-level Scorcher, and his passive makes him completely negate almost all the damage from most high-level defenses. That's not even getting into his abilities, that have the potential to further improve his damage reduction or simply heal off any damage done. And while he's slow and short-ranged, his DPS is absolutely insane: easily outstripping any other single troop in the game and even most defenses. * PowerFist: He uses '''electrified brass knuckles''' to punch buildings and stun them. * RatedMForManly: He's an incredibly buff guy with a triple-barreled shotgun and electrified brass knuckles, who purposely attracts the attention of heavy artillery, eats bullets to the face on a regular basis, chugs possibly steroid-infused energy drinks, and can punch buildings to death with his bare hands. ** In fact, Boom Beach has released a list of feats he has done to prove just how tough he is. ![]() > ''Private Bullit was once hit by a Tank, and dragged the Tank to the garage afterwards!'' -> ''Private Bullit invented giraffes when he punched a horse's chin!'' -> ''When Private Bullit swims in the sea, the sharks get into steel cages!'' * ShockAndAwe: His Shock Knuckles ability has him leap to the nearest defense and deliver a massive punch with his electrified brass knuckles, dealing damage as well as firing a shock wave that stuns it and all buildings right behind it. * ShotgunsAreJustBetter: A '''triple-barreled''' one, to be specific. ![]()

Screenx movie theater3/1/2023 ![]() South Korea alone has 84, and China has 46. To date, ScreenX has been installed in 151 auditoriums around the world and Cineworld has been tasked with building another hundred. Maybe one day we’ll all watch movies with three screens instead of one. Then there’s Dolby Cinema’s enhanced contrast and precision audio, and Samsung’s experimental LED screens. The 3D phase has come and gone several times, but the super-sized IMAX format has stuck. Having three screens provides potential for new methods of storytelling.Įver since cinemas came along, we’ve seen various attempts to revolutionise it. Of course, these are still early days for the new technology, and filmmakers will no doubt find better ways of using the new tools at their disposal. The movie regularly switched between ScreenX super-wide and standard formats as the film cut from one location to another – which can be distracting. For instance, the scene I saw of The Meg switched from Jason Statham fighting the shark to the supporting cast elsewhere. If you can get past this, there’s also the issue of a scene not entirely being in extended format. For ScreenX, the expanded images aren’t on the same wall. Scenes shot in IMAX format fill in the top and bottom of a standard 2.4:1 format screen, so what you get is a single, massive picture. Unlike IMAX, however, ScreenX isn’t seamless. If a standard cinema screen isn’t enough for you and you need something extra to transport you to that world, this does the job very nicely. Considering the work involved, the price is reasonable: ScreenX tickets cost £3 more than usual. My field of view was entirely filled with shots of the ocean, which naturally took me closer to feeling like I was part of the film. With the picture extending past the sides, it is a genuinely immersive experience. There are inevitable similarities with the super-sized IMAX format. ![]() My demonstration used footage from The Meg, 20 minutes of Jason Statham fighting a massive shark. In the UK, it is launching with Ant-Man and the Wasp, The Meg, and The Nun. ScreenX was first launched in 2015 and has featured such titles as King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and Black Panther. Special fabric is lined on the walls to keep colours consistent, although that won’t hide the fire exit signs. ![]() The main picture uses one but the wings need four. The combined image is then fired out of five projectors. They are stitched together using the clever ScreenX software. Movies arrive at the cinema in two digital files (most cinemas no longer use reels of film): one for the standard film, the other for the sides or ‘wings’. Only this isn’t just light – it’s proper video footage, composed, filmed and edited at the same time as the standard theatrical material and subject to the same CGI and colour grading efforts. ![]() ![]() It’s a similar idea to the Ambilight system on Philips TVs, which fill your peripheral vision with light. That’s a 270-degree field of view, designed to fill up your peripheral vision – theoretically making the picture more immersive. ScreenX presentations beam additional footage on the walls to the left and right. It displays the same film and format as what you’ll eventually see on Netflix. How does three-screen viewing work? The middle one is like any cinema screen. I was invited to check it out ahead of its public opening today. The first one in the UK was just installed at the O2 in North Greenwich, London. ScreenX has arrived in the UK, and it’s a multi-projector cinema experience that has you looking at three screens instead of one. If you’ve ever watched a movie and wondered what’s just out of frame, you’re in luck. ![]()

Scopebox workset3/1/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() On the Properties palette, for the Views Visible property, click Edit.Open a view in which you can see the scope box.Set the Views Visible Property for a Scope Box Since the Revit Scope Box is a cube, it can’t be applied to those views that have non-rectangular Crop Region! How do you turn on Scope box in Revit? The reason for this weird behaviour is simple: it turned out that Scope Box parameter becomes read-only if you modify the Crop Cregion sketch. The answer may be to do with the Crop Boundary – and it may not be obvious, especially if the crop boundary is hidden. Your project should now be a lot lighter and more workable.Ĭhances are you hopefully won’t be in the situation where you’ll need to utilise this tip if you’ve planned your Revit project effectively. There are some situations where the Scope Box property of a view is greyed out – so you cannot assign a Scope Box to the view. You can either go and edit each one of these elements, or just use the same method of selecting the scope box and creating a section with the Coins auto-section box add-in. You will notice that any elements which are attached to this view will also remain (floor slabs + walls which were associated with the selected elements). You will now be left with the elements you want to work with, and a much lighter project. Once you have done this, click on your light bulb icon and unhide all elements in view. Highlight all the remaining elements and delete them. You should now see the rest of your building MINUS the elements that you want to work with. ![]() Staying in the same view, go to your ‘Properties’ palette and turn off your section box. The section box and all elements inside will now be hidden. Now you will want to click on ‘Hide Element’. If you can see other elements that were also selected in your view at this point you can shift de-select all these. We will now want to highlight this whole area including all elements in the scope box. You should now have the selected area of your building isolated in a section box. Name your view and either give a custom size or as I usually do, select the ‘Element extents, plus buffer’ 300mm is the default (giving you a 300mm tolerance on each side of the selected elements). Select the scope box, go to the ‘Add-Ins’ tab and click ‘Auto Section Box’. Once you have done this, we will use the ‘Coins Auto-Section box’ add-in to isolate the scope box, just giving us the area of the building that we want to display / work with. Go to the ‘View’ tab and select ‘Scope box’ create your box on a floor plan and ensure that the vertical extents are at the desired position on a 3D view. Setting up worksets to narrow down the elements by cores is also an option, but unless you have set the project up with this in mind, it could take a while to set up and re-edit all your worksets.Īn option which me and my colleague Johnny Furlong discovered is making use, yet again of the amazing ‘ Coins Auto-Section Box‘ (which is quickly becoming my favourite and most used Revit add-in!).įor this example I will use the Revit sample project as I’m not able to post information on the project we needed to do this on. Using a section box will give you the desired visual effect but the project will still be as heavy as it was prior to narrowing down the view to only show the elements you are presenting / working with. Ever had a Revit project which is so large that you are having performance issues and trouble working on it? Want to work on a specific area of the building (possibly cores) without being slowed down by the data in the rest of the building? ![]() |
